RayS Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Saturday I changed theoil in the 7790. I moved to the other side of garage to do so. After I changed the oil I started it up and moved back to the other side. Sunday I desided I was going to pressure wash the crude off of engine and behind the air shrouds. Since I would be doing this in front of garage I rolled it out in front of garge (felt no need to start). When done I blowed all the excess water off with a air hose and rolled it back into the garage. A hour later I went to start it and nothing, any clues? I do have it fixed now but was wanting to see everyones thoghts or ideas.

hotrodtractor Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 you left it in gear or had pto engaged :D maybe? That is what I thought at first but wasn`t the problem after I ran jumper wires to the safety switches.
Burntime Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 The flux capacitor was disconbobulated within the ergonomics of the rapid succession of occilations whereby the rendering the field of electromagnativity useless?:D
427435 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 There's a plug on the left side of the engine that has the alternator connections in it. The alternator wasn't charging on mine initially and I found it loose. Does it have the starter circuit in it also?
Michiganmobileman Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 quote:The flux capacitor was disconbobulated within the ergonomics of the rapid succession of occilations whereby the rendering the field of electromagnativity useless? Yeah what he said;). Did you blow something off or loose with the water pressure? Greg
RayS Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 Not sure about the starter circuit and the alternator is fine. Didn`t blowe anything loose with water pressure either.

RayS Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 The 20 amp circuit breaker corroded into. Just a weird coincidence I suppose. Must of broke into the day before when I shut it off after changing the oil. It will not kick over if that breaker is not good.
crahmes Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I'm puzzled. I've had my whole motor out sitting on a bench, so I've seen the engine side of the wiring and never noticed a circuit breaker or fuse. I'm not at home, so I can't see mine and I assume it is somewhere on the wire that connects to the starter solenoid. Can you tell me exactly where it is in case it happens to me? Thanks for the info!
RayS Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 Don`t know what tractor you have. If you download the parts manual it is in there. All of the 7000 & 7100 series tractors have them. The older tractors in the 60`s had a fuse.
crahmes Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I've got a 7790 also. I see the part in the manual but I was wondering where it is actually located on the tractor. Looks like it might be under the dash, but there is no way to tell from the parts manual. Is it on the right or left side and how difficult is it to get to? When I get home tonight I'll certainly search for it but any help that you can give would be great. Thanks.
D10-Allis Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 It's behind the battery, it's the block with the 2 red wires going to it, the lower wire has corrosion on it, that way it's easier to find. The neutral safety switch is right above it. Hope this helps. sm01
546cowboy Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Don't really know what your problem was but I had the same thing happen to a WH 520H I have and it taught me a lesson - don't be such a fanatic with the water hose or pressure washer. The time to worry is two days later and it still won't start.
