Burntime Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Picked this up over the weekend. It was wired direct so I rewired it the right way around 6:30 this morning. Now all works, the sealed beam is bright as heck! Only need to get the small bulb which should be at napa. Pretty cool! Here some pics cause I know if there are no pics it did not happen...:D It looks like an R8-60 on it. Is it simplicity or something else? I also got a funky bracket with it... Any guesses? I may end up with it on the 64 landlord, or I may sell it off. Just how rare are these? I have only seen one other original one. BLT sent me a link someone has one but the sealed beam is burned out. Anyone else have em?
Talntedmrgreen Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I thought full size Deere's had a light like that at some point. I was just looking at this yesterday...similar repro. http://www.americantractorlights.com/shop4/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=73&idcategory=0 They have red innards for them somewhere on that site too...Your original Guide is pretty cool!
Burntime Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 Those do look similiar. They had some oldies from the 30's that I wanted, not sure why, but they were cool!8D
Talntedmrgreen Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 There are a lot of cool looking lights, from long before these tractors, that look good and sell cheaper sometimes on ebay. I've started to look at the old, full size tractor lights as an alternative.
dhardin Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 If I was to design a back light for todays tractor usage, It would have LEDs for a work light (switched) and a yellow flasher beams for safety, All in one unit.
D-17_Dave Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I have the same light on my D-15 I just restored. Common OEM tail light on lots of ag tractors. The sealed beam bulb replacements are avaliable through Stiener's.
BLT Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Check this out. Have two or three done and have an original Guide that I have been thinking of changing. http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=99708&SearchTerms=flood,tail,light
