DMedal Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I've got the IPL and the Owner's manual but I can't find the Service manual at the simplicitymfg site, not even for $$. Is it still available? I lost ALL my PDF manuals in a crash. And turns out my backup scheme wasn't backing those up. Arggh. -Don
RayS Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Send me your email address in a PM. I will send it to you.
dhardin Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Don I feel your pain, I have had several crashed some small and some catastrophic. I have found one needs to load all PDFs and manuals to a "thumb drive". There like $12 to $20 and will not crash with your info. I now have 2 thumb drives one in my USB and a copy I take to the parts houses I get my parts from, It comes in real handy.
DMedal Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 This is more embarrassing than that. I do IT for a living, and yes, all my work systems are well backed up. This is a bit like the better mechanics here running an engine out of oil. What got me was mousing over a malware ad (no clicking) and catching a fake antivirus infection which ate my personal folders and asks for money to "fix" the problem. I suspect once you give them the credit card info you won't get the files back but they will clean out your account. Anyway, yes, thumb drive is a very good option. Now that I've found backup religion again I've got them on the thumb drives and my laptop AND on my work hard drive. It has been over 15 years since I lost a file, and I guess I got sloppy. That's no excuse. Back up your pretty tractor pictures and those all important manuals while you still can!
