D10-Allis Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Ray said.... "I believe one of these diesels would drag a FDT around, easily!:D" Sooo I had to try it. Not sure how this one turned out, couldn't get third gear to turn em on the D10. You be the judge. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DU9Tk5YqHQ Firestones were slinging whatever they could and the Tru-powers were diggin in 1st and 2nd. Boy #1 was on the 920 with wide open throttle not givin up while Boy #2 was running the camera.sm01
Brettw Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Give junior as much weight as dad and a set of dualies, and there may have been a different outcome. 8D
rfsmith1952 Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Jeff, that was fun to watch. Reminds me of what they say about wrestling with a pig: Everybody gets dirty, and the pig likes it.:D Glad to see family fun with these tractors. Number two shows good camera skills too!
yukon Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 could i rent you 2 to come and till my garden,:D you gave me an idea
acfarmer Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Hooking tractors drawbar to drawbar proves nothing and is a very good way to get someone hurt.A small tractor can keep a bigger one from pulling it backwards. To realy find out what each is capable of you need to weight the tractors the same, same drawbar height, and hook to an implement or weight transfer sled.
Caish Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I'll put my 920 against your gas burner out in the field cutting grass anyday. I was using it more for a BushHog yesterday than a mower. :p At least till I had a spindle bearing go out. The 920 is the workingest best cutting mower I've ever had. Someone could offer me $2k for it tomorrow and I'd tell them to keep the money.
RayS Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 They are both diesels in this post. http://simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=109556&SearchTerms=diesel
D10-Allis Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 Looks like we blew the hub in the 920 during the Tug-o-war,:( I didn't like the way it started to bounce when we started out but stayed with it, towards the end of the video I heard a crack and you can see the right wheel starting to turn funny, shelled out everything and broke 2 of the 8 pinion gears. Drove it away under its own power with full posi because of busted up gears. Looks like the rubber seal for the hub has been curled up for some time so now that will get fixed to.OO
