vanzilela Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I have had the starter going bad since i bought and decided to change it this spring,it looked to be a hour job BUT leave it up to cub cadet! i have to lift the motor(3cyl kabota) and remove the engine mounting bracket to get starter out and new one in.this may take some time and the grass ain't waiting. There are four bolts that hold this braket in place with two bolts i can't get at easy.what a nightmare this turned out to be
xenon172 Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 We have a cub 882 that needs a new starter as well with pretty much the same set up. Not looking forward to that job either.
perry Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 my bolens loader tractor with a K482 is the same way. gotta lift the engine up ...sm00
vanzilela Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 we got it only took about 2 hrs and a six pack, also a bunch of cussing. i only took out three of the four bolts on the motor mount bracket which let it drop down enough to remove starter tonight I gotta put it back together if i had taken it to a cub dealer i would have missed all this fun and been out about 500.00.next is the simplicity power max 4041
