RHA Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Hey Guys,I'm in the middle of redoing a pin hole riddled B-110 gas tank. I've had the bottom re-leaded,resealed the inside and repainted it!Now I'm a little mad at myself for not taking a picture of the decal on the top of the tank!!!C:O:(sm00.If one of you guys would be so kind to post a picture for me of that, that would be great!!!8)Also has anybody recently bought one?? My goal is to clear the tank with a fuel resistant clear coat but I need that decal first!!!^ I've searched the forums and found postings from 2001 and 2005 Wells?? Maple-chase?? Any new sources??? Thanks Richard
brockway Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Richard I have used maple hunter for decals and am happy with them.I might have a extra decal I will look tomorrow.
ReedS Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Check out Click it and Stick it. He'll make what you need though you'll need a photo of it. I'm not sure if hr already has that decal in stock (he may). I just repainted the dash on my 3016, and got all of the decals from him to make it look like new. I don'r know if any of the tanks I have have that decal on them but I'll look next time I'm out in the garage.
sammiefish Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 could you post a photo and where you get one from? im in the market now as well
RHA Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 I've ordered the decal from Mark Wells For $5.50 that includes shipping.I'll post a picture of the decal for Chris once I recieve it8D Richard
Talntedmrgreen Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I'm using his decals on my Big Ten redo, and they're wonderful. He's been very helpful numerous times now. I've used MapleHunter decals previously as well, on the B110, and they have held up nicely.
TommyK Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 I always trust a man who has a yard stick in his shop.
RHA Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 The next step is to clear it! With this!!!!A new fuel resistant clear coat in a spray can with hardener?!This can has 2 separate chambers, one for paint, one for hardener!! Shake it up for two min. turn it upside down, push the button in on the bottom, shake for another two min.!!!You have 24 hrs to use it!!??This Thread may have to be moved to show and tell??
Storm7012 Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 That's pretty cool stuff. Let us know how it works.
TommyK Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 quote:Originally posted by RHA....!!!You have 24 hrs to use it!!??... I suspect once you open / first use the coating side, you've begun the hardening process. The 'hardener' is probably a catalyst that speeds up the inevitable. So... is there anything else you'd like to coat with a rock hard clear coat?
