hotrodtractor Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Ok guys I think I finally got the combo I am looking for. On my 7010 3 speed hot rod I wanted to bump up speed a bit for playing around. After a lot of trial and error I got what I am happy with. Front BGB pulley changed to 6.5" rear pulley changed to 4.5". This combo allows me to run the stock size belts. You cannot put a bigger BGB pulley that 6.5 on as it barley clears the seat pan and brace. Its so tight I need to take BGB pulley off to get the belt on. Speed is right where I want it. 1st gear would work for mowing if I wanted to. 2nd is about as fast as my hydro machines wide open. 3rd must be about 15-20mph I will need to GPS it one of these days. Yes this speed on a tractor is a white knuckle ride, but oh so fun. I should pick up a few more MPH once I get my 12x12 wheels back from chromer and put on the 26.5x14's (the meats).... this project is really coming together.
