Main drive gear had no teeth left! Disassembled, cleaned, replced gear & spacers. The retaining ring was a pain getting on & is now a little stretched. The axle washer that has a hollow for the retaining ring won't fit over it! Is there a special tool for the ring? Can i millout the hollow in the axle washer & set it around the ring(that seems like the simplest idea)? The retain ring is not at all like a snapring(ext or int-no grip holes)though it acts like one.

After redoing the tranny on my B112 and seeing what can happen when someone puts the wrong retainers on a shaft I recomend replacing your streched out one. I went to NAPA and bought a set of nice snap-ring pliers with interchangeable tips and was really disappointed in the way it worked until I put a set of tips in backwards so I hadflat edges to grab with, then all the rest were a brezze. Well worth the bucks cuz there is more than one snap ring in these oldies.MPH
