I am looking for a crankshaft for a co workers wood chipper, Tec# 35372A. Everywhere I look it is out of stock. Does anyone here know of a source for hard to find parts. It's a 10hp engine, about 8 years old. Hate to give up on it.

Tecumseh got out of the engine making business a number of years ago. I read, somewhere, on the net some outfit bought out their inventory. Do a web search, you're bound to stumble upon it. A crank is a difficult part to come up with once the manufacturer quits making it. You may need to scrounge small engine/lawn mower salvage yards, or consider a re-powering the chipper. Here, again, small engine salvage yards may be a source.

Another place to look, is for junk snow blowers with engine models HM70, HM80, HHM80 and HM10. They used the same crank and from what I gather from my parts book, it was the base crank for a lot of the above engines. Snowblowers generally rot out from age but in most engines, the cranks and rods are salvageable.

That's why I call B&S engines Briggs and Scrapiron. In most cases, when the equipment they power have turned to scrap iron, the Briggs is still running!
