A Wild Hair

Actually a Hair Trigger. My BIS (butt in seat) switch is on a hair trigger. Depressing the clutch/brake pedal causes my right cheek to raise just enough to disable the engine from starting. So some animated cheek shifting is involved in successful engine starting. Same with mid-mowing clutch depression, it causes the engine to stall. I suspect the contacts/spring are worn. While I wait for my innertube to come in, I plan to work on "The Deuce". My new-to-me SimpleCity 5212.5 is now named "The Deuce". As in five, two, one, 'Deuce and a Half'. Harkening back to the days of the Buick 225, 'Deuce and a Quarter.' Can someone tell me, is the BIS switch normally open or normally closed (normally = B not in S).

I believe when you sit on the seat it closes the switch. It can be bypassed by hooking the wires together or else replacing the switch with a jumper wire, if you are so inclined. My Regent12 had kind of the same problem. It is the style where the switch is up into the seat pan. I found that the foam under the seat cover was out of place. When I readjusted it, it now works fine. Steve
