Well I was really ecstatic when I did the screw driver trick and I can shift into all 1st,2nd,3rd an reverse but all it will do is go into reverse. When I put it into 3rd or 2nd it bogs the motor down and it will stall. What is my next option here? If I have to take the gear case apart, what kind of parts do you think I may need other then the gasket? Also are any of these possible parts available? As I would like to order them altogether to save some time. Thank You Stan

If I remember right I Pulled it to as looking at the hole and the one toward the back end of the tractor.Stan

My dad had a '57 chevy truck that did that once. The gears could not be shifted out of reverse. It would go into 1st, but with the transmission also in reverse, the truck was moving very far very fast. As expected the engine stalled. I wouldn't try to move it under power until you get it resolved. If your trans is in two gears at once, something might give and it will be an expensiver 'give'.

Well I do believe I have to move it the opposite way, but I don't know how I got it to move in the first place.I do now have the shaft from shifting into 2nd and reverse. As I look in the hole I can see where that piece that comes down from the shaft that goes front and back to shift gears is hitting whatever and will not go back to the position to shift in 2nd and reverse.Am I supposed to move that what I can see that is in the way or is it something else? I have been bending an re bending that screwdriver and trying it and watching the video and looking at those schematics to the point where it is driving me crazy.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Stan
