Hey Guys, just bought a HB 212, nice condition overall, bought and stripped another 210 for some random parts i needed. have some questions since garden tractors are new to me, i have a few large John deere farm tractors i have restored but my first tractor was a hb212 and i finally got one back. i need a seat, wondering who sold the nicest one. i saw someone in the club sells one, then wells and sandy lake, wondering who has bought what and if you were happy. also where is a good place to get tune up parts, carb kit, deck parts and blades. we dont have any simplicity dealers around here. i did order a service manual hopefully that will at least give me part numbers. i plan to tear the tractor down to every piece possible and then put an automotive finish on it. any advise or info would be great. thanks nathan

Welcome! Here's the parts manual for the equivalent Simplicity (same except for trim, hood and seat). http://bsintek.basco.com/BriggsDocumentDisplay/default.aspx?filename=heCBEN8arHZrE3CNj5kbp796Dq Several of our sponsors have online parts databases so you can see if the parts are still available (most are) and order them online...

Mary Gearheart is her name - she was the first club secretary, as I recall: http://simpletractors.com/club2/pop_profile.asp?mode=display&id=2087

Mary's seats are top notch for sure...I'm putting one on my Big Ten resto. You need to give her the specifics of your model, and she makes it correct, pleats and all.

Welcome to the club. I just restored a HB212 last year and you will love the tractor. I purchased the seat cushions from Mary and they were great. Wells has paint formula's for the HB212 and I crossed them over to Nason automotive paint (DuPonts cheaper brand). I painted single stage and the results came out great. I put pics on show and tell with my restored sickle bar. You can find them there if you search it. Best of luck with your restoration.

Welcome to the club Nathan. I too have an HB-212 that I am restoring. I chose to go with the John Deere new construction yellow paint in the spray cans. (made by Valspar) Others in the club have used it and it is probably as close to original as you can get. Good luck with your restoration.
