Burntime Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 I must be doing something wrong. I have yet to find the correct screen to use on the kohler ch18/20. I have a triad driveshaft adapter and can not find a screen. Anyone know the number? It looks like I could use a plastic one with push on lock, but this is a keeper. If anyone has the right number and preferably metal let me know! I have to order a bunch from jacks and that is the last piece of the puzzle! Thanks a million in advance!:D
RayS Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Didn`t look to hard!:D Part number should be 24-162-37-S Not sure if it is plastic or not. http://www.ereplacementparts.com/kohler-ch2064510-engine-parts-c-106503_108123_110121.html?osCsid=pa0aov7uk1epqmj8s5eboe7kq2
Burntime Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 The chopper screen will not fit unless I purchase a new housing as well... Going to try and figure out how much the housing is..
Brettw Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Do you have the screen that came with the engine? I took the screen from my the new magnum, and used a Dremel tool to carefully cut out what I needed to to mount the driveshaft yoke. Looked like factory and worked just fine.
CarlH Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 The screen is metal. Should be able to pick up a housing on eBay fairly cheaply. Or it may be as simple as removing the clip that holds the fixed screen in place.
Burntime Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 On this one it is a plastic screen that has 7 push nuts... OR, change out the whole face housing...and a metal screen like the simplicity spec...
PhanDad Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Sent you a PM with the info and an offer for the plastic screen. Only issue might be, I think there are only 3 push nuts that hold the screen on. At least that's what my spec 62501 CH18 Command used. Hope your fan isn't different.
TommyK Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 What kind of sheet goods did they use for it? Expanded metal? What's your flavor? http://www.mcmaster.com/#wire-cloth-sheets/=ch5dhn
PhanDad Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 TommyK, The chopper screen is round hole perforated sheet, 9/64" staggered.
