BMinor8806 Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 My uncle owns an AC 712H tractor with 48" deck. When he engages the mower to mow the transmission begins to gallop under and steady load up a small grade. I've checked the linkages and replaced the nylon bushing that the slide moves from left to right. Could this be a filter / fluid issue? Brandon
johnmonkey Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 If it happens when you engage the mower, you may want to remove the mower belt and see if the idler pulleys "free spin" ie has no resistance. I have had to replace 4 or 5 idler pulleys over the years. jh
JimDk Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Brandon, Check to see if the bolts are loose that attach the frame to the BGB. Also check the side plates for movement. It does not seem that would cause the tractor to surge, but it does. My HB-212 did it as soon as I put the deck on and tried to use it. All 4 front bolts were loose.
BMinor8806 Posted May 26, 2011 Author Posted May 26, 2011 Thanks for the suggestions I will tell him to check for those things.
OrangeMetalGuy Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 A fluid and filter change would not be a bad idea too.
