rusthappens Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 I recently purchased an AC 611 that is in good shape, except for lack of brake. Though I wasn't familiar with the model, I figured it shouldn't be a major problem to fix. As I check it out I find the brake disc on the right front of the transmission, rather than the wheel or axle. When the brake is activated, it does indeed stop the disc, but that seems to have no effect on the wheels. And while the wheels turn without resistance by hand without the disc turning, turning the disc by hand will turn the wheels. Can someone explain what is going on, and how to fix it? Thanks
TommyK Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 The disk is not engaged with the input shaft. Is it splined? possibly stripped splines. Is it bolted? Possibly broken bolts.
