Picked up a B212

Never had an allis b212. No spark, spindles turn but are tight, tank is solid but rusty... I think this one is destined for parts. I have not done a compression test but my guess is lower around 60-70 the way it turns over... The good is a 48 inch deck, the seat is salvageable, wheel is bright, has the deflector on the deck, and tin is straight!

Too nice for parts! 'round these parts thats a runner, put a good lung in her and let 'er rip!

Come on Mike! That is a runner, not a parts tractor. None of mine have looked that good when I first got them.

Great find, that one is way to nice to part out...

Nice B212, its a keeper! Around here, that one would get fixed for sure.

If it was a round hood it would join the fleet! The square ones do not do much for me...

Does not look like cannibalism material to me. Mike, have you no heart man?!?! }:)8D

Gotta agree with the masses, that's a keeper or fix and sell for the tractor fund. Just too straight and complete for iron. Paint is not all that bad.

It photo's well...you might want to reconsider...

Do what makes you happy. I use to be against parting out, but if no one did there would be alot of tractors out there that no one would be able to get parts for. Check the compression and go from there.

Exactly, and we know that few people want to pay 300 for a starter generator, or a few hundred for a carb so the parts usually bring new life to a tired machine...

You are planning to part out a tractor that looks that good, while I am planning to fix up this one.

It is a shame what some people will do to make a quick buck. By the way, I don't need any of your parts. Sell them to someone with no conscience.

Rod, your pile would sit untouched without the goodies from others.

C'mon Rod, your getting a little snippy. Why would you have a fit over a tractor. Seriously, have some fun. Thats what the hobby is about.

I think you're both nuts!! sm06sm06sm06sm06sm06sm06sm06sm06sm06sm06sm06 Rod, the scope your project is well beyond my skills and knowledge, so I would right that one off. With that said, I have nothing but respect for you and others here that put these things back together. I think this "hobby" would have little meaningful history if it weren't for people with your talent and determination. I thank you for thatdOd Mike, I also respect your position and oftentimes wish I had the wherewithal to make what should be simple decision to keep or part out a project (old cars mostly). After all, it's just sheetmetal and rubber, etc etc. With that said, judging by the pictures, I agree with Ray and feel that machine is a nice looking original. I would be hard pressed to take that one apart wah but I certainly understand the logic. I think the reality of it is that this hobby needs both people/scenarios involved if we want to take things beyond a static museum like atmosphere.
