GWGAllisfan Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 It was a sort of mixed weekend with the tractors this weekend, some good, some bad, some indifferent. The good: Saturday morning my daughter and I hitched the trailer to the 70 Ford and went 150 miles each way to get this: Looks pretty good from that side, but the right is more the story I was told the engine had dropped a valve. It wasn't the right one anyway as this appears to be a Briggs twin, not a Kohler. There's more signs of neglect: Notice the way the idler area is bent! The brake band is gone ,too. But it does have the rear lift kit, and an electric lift, plus a decent 48" mower deck. It was worth what I paid for those, and if I can rig an idler to test the hydro, it should be a decent source of parts for my 7112. The Bad: Monday while we were working in the Yard, the kids were riding around on the B-1 and wagon, and despite my instructions, went across a hill sideways and rolled the B-1 over on themselves. They are OK, but had a scare as the middle daughters leg was trapped under the fender and has a 2.5" pressure cut in it: The ER x-rayed and nothing broken, which we were relieved to hear. I hope it's a learning experience. Please remind all your kids and remember yourselves not to cross hills sideways. I know we all do it, even sitting on the high side fender at times.....
Burntime Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Wow, bet thats one lesson learned well! Glad there is just some scratches and everyone is ok...
MPH Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Hopefully just a learning and not scared off. Glad to hear it wasn't worse.
johnmonkey Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Ditto on all the above, it can be scarry, and I'm glad there was no severe injury. jh
hotrodtractor Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 sad story my kids love the machines also. I have taken extreme measures to make the machines less tippy and safer. My 75th sports 26x12 rear tires and all safety switches. The hot rod no safety but darn there impossible to tip with the 26.5x14 tires that should be on soon. glad everyone is ok...thats the most important part
sierradriver Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Glad to hear all is well. Glad its something to learn from
