stangman1 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 I worked at a Simplicity dealership when they changed the frame color to black. I'm thinking it was '88 or '89. It was because they started making Deutz-Allis tractors at that point. They made the frames and all replacement parts black to keep from having to inventory everything in two colors, orange for Simplicity and green for Duetz-Allis. The engine will have the date code on it, and will get you within a couple of years of the date of your particular model.
