Guy 0 Posted June 25, 2001 Hi, our 5215 hydro just chewed up the belt going to the hydro, no warning and the tractor was moving fine at the time. Checked and replaced the idlers, made sure that the routing was correct. We are using an aftermarket belt, one of the Green high strength belts. I am wondering it the only belts that really hold up are the simplicity belts? Any other ideas? Guy
lmoret 0 Posted June 25, 2001 I installed a brand new "green" belt on my deck. It lasted 10 minutes. The Simplicity replacement has been on since (over a year) without a problem. Until I received a Simplicity replacement, I put an old used auto PS belt on my hydro and it's still working fine (over a year). Go figure.......... Check your belt alignment and routing, and for pulley looseness or binding.
jlasater 185 Posted June 25, 2001 I believe the backing on the "garden/ag" rated belts is much thicker than most of the automotive grade belts that don't use an idler on the backside.[A href='http://www.wheatfarm.com']http://www.wheatfarm.com[/a]
