Help on mounting steering rod

I am trying to clarify the correct way to mount the connecting rod from the steering gear to the front tie rod on a Landlord 101. I have it mounted with the short end toward the rear. This puts the flattened part of the rod next to your foot when on the footrest. Turning left with the left wheel raised causes the rod to rub the paint off the side of the frame. If you look at the picture of the B10 in answer 4 to posting 4313, though, it looks like the short end of the rod is mounted to the front. It is hard to get a clear perspective from the pictures, though. Can someone help, please?

On my 725 the shorter end from the bend is to the front and thats the way the book looks to be. MPH

J.D., On my Late model B10, the short end is toward the front of tractor. The rod on mine has a "flattened" area so it clears the frame. If some of your linkage is worn, it could hit the frame. Marion W. Kerr
