Kohler K662 Question

The Power Plant in the previous message is powered by a Kohler K662. It is a twin (2) cylinder engine. Why isn't it designated as a KT662..? Is it different than the KT series..? http://home.att.net/~herb.niewender/plant.jpg

Hi Dutch, Yes it is different than a KT. Can't tell you how different, tho. See the link below for a listing of manuals. Apparantly it's the papa of the KT. bobjack[A href='http://www.perr.com/kohstore.html']http://www.perr.com/kohstore.html[/a]

Hi, This engine is in the K532, 582 and 662 family. It preceeded the KT series and is a very expensive engine. It lists in the $2600 to $3000 range depending on the spec. It is nearly dead due to the emissions restrictions. It is larger and heavier than the KTs. It is a cast iron block with integral cylinders. Were used in skid loaders, industrial equipment, generators and the K532 in the John Deere 400s. Al E.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
