Leaf Vacum

Recommended Posts

I am looking for options for a tow behind leaf vacum for my Soveriegn. With the left discharge 48" deck it seems like I am out of luck? Has anyone found a way to modify these vacums or is there an option out there?

You can keep your eyes open for a Simplicity unit. It is driven off of the PTO of the later models (earlier 70's and newer). They go for around $4-500 complete if you can find one. I have seen the trac vac units made to work. With some modifications they have turned the engine/vac unit 180 degrees on the trailer and made that work with the left hand decks. You can search the forums here on that. As I recall it has been discussed.

I just talked to the local Simplicity dealer Gano's in Colchester Ct. They told me that Trac-Vac makes a discharge boot for it. Also Simplicity may still make one. They are going to chack on availability and price. Hopefully the price will work.

Over a year ago, you answered a question I had about the tool bar for my FDT. In your reply dated Dec 31, 2019  you said the spacer, part #16, goes in the bar to allow for up and down depth adjustment. does this mean the bolt has to be tightened at whatever depth desired or does the bolt slide up and down, allowing the lower hitch to free float?
If it is tightened so the lower hitch and the bar are rigid, then is the depth to be controlled by the shoes? Or by the lift handle?
Is there any kind of user directions for the tool bar? The Outdoor Power Manual basically shows how to assemble the bar but not how to use it
