Am I going to have to re-do this?

I just replaced the oil pan on a 16 HP Briggs. I used the blue Permatex gasket glue, no gasket. Then I read it should not be used on gas related stuff. Should I take it back apart and use another type of gasket maker on it??

I think they mean anything that is related to sealing gasoline related areas as gaso is a solvent of somewhat and that paticular variety of Permatex might might not get along with it.

Not sure which Briggs 16 you have but some need the gasket to control end thrust on the crank. Just an FYI. I have never seen RTV used as a gasket solely and work. By that I mean it always leaks later.

I got thinking about this yesterday. I had the transfer case out of our '99 Silverado a year ago for repair, and they are ALL put together with blue Permatex. No gaskets there anywhere, none of them. You'll be fine.

Over a year ago, you answered a question I had about the tool bar for my FDT. In your reply dated Dec 31, 2019  you said the spacer, part #16, goes in the bar to allow for up and down depth adjustment. does this mean the bolt has to be tightened at whatever depth desired or does the bolt slide up and down, allowing the lower hitch to free float?
If it is tightened so the lower hitch and the bar are rigid, then is the depth to be controlled by the shoes? Or by the lift handle?
Is there any kind of user directions for the tool bar? The Outdoor Power Manual basically shows how to assemble the bar but not how to use it
