36" Tiller seal

I see in the parts diagram that the seals are on the inside of the case around the tine shaft. Is there supposed to be a seal or gasket between the bearing flange and the outside of the case too or not? Sam

32" or 36" AC and Simplicity tillers are filled with grease, I beieve.

My 725 tiller (same as a model B?) had only a grease fitting. The manual didn't show any oil filler so I suspect it was only grease. Maybe after 40 years it would be worthwhile to open it and clean it out.

Ken, are the tine shaft bearings sealed? I can't find any grease fitting on those two bearing, rest of it has as many secks as an ole AC model 60 combine did> MPH

Sam, is your tiller the same as the B series tillers. Been wondering if there is suppose to be oil in the chain case. Can't find any fill or drain plug on mine. MPH
