FDT Foot Rest Pads

I bought some RUBBER V-groove runner, and made a tool steel pattern for these pads. Some ebay vendors claim to sell rubber, but it's vinyl. I knife cut these one pair at a time. I cut 13 pair tonight. 10 more tomorrow? I'll buy more material when these are gone. These are available here to members in the classified section. I tried some contact cement to glue these on, and almost immediately it crazed and destroyed the pain. What do we use for adhesive? 3m trim spray adhesive? I need some input here please. The pics have double sided carpet tape holding the pads on for picture purposes only.

3m trim spray adhesive is what I have been using for re-gluing rubber, or what have you, foot rest pads. Seems succesful thus far.

I use the 3M spray as well on my footrests. Still holding strong. I'm sure weather strip adhesive will work as well. As long as it is properly applied, that is.

On my B210 Resto I used an industrial contact cement called PLIOBOND. (I got the same tread material from another member) I applied to both surfaces, wait a moment, then apply together... Presto. Tight & no damage to the rubber or the (3 week old)paint.dOd

My paint was 1 week old. I have some 3M trim adhesive, but it's not spray. I'll get a can of spray adhesive tomorrow. GLPointon, if you got the material that I THINK you got, I researched it, and from what I can tell, it's vinyl, not rubber. (Is it glossy at all? This rubber has no shine.) At least that's what I've been led to believe from the guy that sold some to our member midwestdxer. His came from Uline, and they sell only vinyl V-groove material, at least right now, and only full rolls. He got his second hand, so it's hard to verify for sure. All I know is the information he gave me. I hope you got rubber.

He is not the one I got it from, and it doesn't have a shine. I'm pretty sure its rubber(we have conveyor belts at work made of same stuff only thicker)...Regardless PLIOBOND will work on wood,vinyl,rubber,glass,metal...etc. I found out about it at work... anyway, I'm not trying to sell you on it...Good Lucksm01

GLP, Glad you got the rubber stuff, and I'll check out the Pliobond. I've had a request for Broodmoor 728 pads. Are there others similar to these?
