gear lube leaking

I have a 3112v and it is leaking gear lube from where the brake shaft comes out of the bevel housing. Can the seal be replaced without removing the bevel. would any one have a any info on this?

U better resign yourself to removing the side plate on the side that is leaking. Seal damage is likely otherwise. The whole box need not be removed. Bill
