Powermax charging problem

Just had a mechanic pull the CCKB engine and rebuild the starter. I also just installed a new ammeter. It reads 0. When I turn the lights on, it reads (-5). The mechanic says it is only charging at 12 volts and he's afraid it won't be enough once I reinstall the deck and start using the electric clutch. His best guess is that the flywheel magnets are weak. I've only had the tractor for about 25 hours but I've also replaced the crankshaft and stator. Any ideas other than the flywheel magnets?

Check the terminals on the ignition switch. Bet you will find a poor connection on one terminal. Don,t think flywheel magnets are your problem.
