mower deck dragging

Recommended Posts

I have a 6216 42 inch mowing deck which is dragging on the turbo assist side of the deck ripping up the grass. I don't see any problems with the rollers, lift mechanism, or front mounting pins and back chain lift connection. The only thing I saw was two quarter size holes in my mowing deck right where the front mounts attach to the mowing deck. Has anyone seen these bolts break right threw the deck housing? Any ideas. Thanks Moleman

If the back edge is dragging, my "guess" is the roller bar has slipped up, lowering the deck in back. Photos of my deck before repainting this spring. Hope this might help.

Good luck! sm01

Thanks John, Thanks for the pics because my belt has recently been coming off and I see the belt stop that I am missing. I am still worried about the front of the deck because my mount is lifting slightly with two holes under them. I think it has ripped thru? Thanks Dave

John, turned out that after reparing the two mounting bolts that had pulled through the deck the dragging stopped and the deck is level again. I ordered the belt stop and while I wait, I never disengaged the mower when I stopped to empty my bagger. Belt stayed on and was able to finish the yard. Only one more round of leaf pickup this coming weekend then it's time to convert the tractor to a snowthrower. Moleman

Hello glad I got on this site. I hope to upload a couple of photos of my Simplicity Broadmoor
Model 707 Tractor. I have replaced all the belts on it and installed a new ignition switch.
Have a mower deck which was in poor shape , repaced a couple of bushings and welded the
deck where there was some holes. The tractor and mower deck came from a friend and the
mower deck metal was getting pretty thin. Some new metal was put in it and we also undercoated the underside of the deck. This was done by my friend Greg Toulman.
I have not put the mower deck on the tractor yet, waiting for Greg to come home and give me a hand. Can you please tell me if there is a manual for the mower deck and where I could get one.
I would also like to get some moon wheel discs as well.
I will try and down load some photos of the tractor when my wife shows me how to.
I really love driving this tractor and also how well it is made compare today's tractors, especially the flexible rear end and the rollers.
      Tell the next time
      Paul
