What year was the 5020 made is it the same thing as the 720? only newer?

No - they are not the same at all. The 5020 was an import - one of a famlily of tractors AC bought and imported to fill out their small compact farm tractor line. There was a 5000 series and 6000 series to this line of tractors. They came out in the late 70's/early 80's I believe. The 720 was built in Port Washington, WI by Simplicity and the final member of the 616, 620, 720 line that used a single frame and components including an Onan engine. These tractors were built in 72 (616), 73 (620) and 74-80 or 81 (720). The Simplicity models were 4040, 4041, and 9020 respectively Steve
