Thumb screws from McMaster-Carr 5/16-18 x 1 http://www.mcmaster.com/#thumb-screw-fasteners/=fgp0y7 With black nylon washer http://www.mcmaster.com/#thumb-screw-fasteners/=fgp0y7 Pretty much what the factory used on the flat hood tractors. John U

The standard hardware will work OK at the rear attaching points but are a poor substitute in the front as the hood support is slotted and they won't hold as well as the spring loaded originals. I've seen washers welded to the top of the hood support so you can run a bolt through with a nut on the backside.

Check out the hood bolts in the last few pics in the thread below. (sorry its so long, just jump to the end pics) The're also from McMasters but I searched a bit longer till I found these. They are the most like the OEM bolts in style, just plastic coated...which I liked better. and only a few bucks...sm01 http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=118636
