I love winter; love snow; love cold days and warm fires; love walking through the woods after a blizzard. You get the idea. I always enjoy seeing people's pics, tractors or not, so I thought I might just start a thread about it! Feel free to add yours and join in dOd My favorite is after a heavy storm when the trees are stuffed full of snow! Good ol' chickens They got a hot breakfast of spent grain on this cold morning. My three favorite ladies came out to join the fun! (Sorry, still a new dad who can't get enough of his little girl) Some of the looks this kid gives just kill me. While Avery (kid) and Andrea (wife) were playing, I spent some good time with my big puppy! And shoveled the roof. Then back to play time OK Dad, I've had enough. Where's that warm milk you promised! Well, I better post at least SOME tractor shots... Until the next snow... For now, we'll all retreat back into that cozy wood heat and warm up with a hot beverage or tasty beer!

Nice winter pictures! Nothing to share here, I've only had about 1" of snow a couple days ago, now today it was in the 60's and I would think its still over 60 right now, 11:30 at night. It should be about 28 degrees at this time.

Nuzz, you sound just like me! This lack of snow is killing me. I put lots of miles on my snowshoes over here in the Barry State Game area most winters. Do my share of squirrel hunting, as an excuse to get out there, and mornings like Sunday morning are my favorite. 10 degrees, and dead still with a clear sky and snow hanging :D I'll have to see what I have for pics...I need to become more of a photographer.

Great pics Eric, thanks for sharing them!! Down here in Wash. county we've had just enough snow to slick the roads and dirty the cars on a couple of mornings, and too much rain. I can cut firewood, but the ground is so soft it makes a mess moving it. Wish it would either get cold, or get warm.

Here's a few...first three from snowmobiling trips, the last two, from a recent morning before and after sunrise while bowhunting. This first one was up near Seney, MI in March when the snow is deeper than I am tall

This one was a forest fire burned area...deceiving but the snow was about 30" deep...the trail was a hardpacked 2 feet.

Near home after some lake effect...

Not much snow to brag about in Milwaukee area. Snow of 01/12/12 was about 6-8" of dry stuff, like Gold Medal Flour. Then the sun came out and it started compressing. Burntime had to blow his side yard to convince me that he really has a working blower.:D

Nice family pictures. Enjoy the moments.

Here in River Falls, WI we have only had dustings several times. People are using their leaf blowers to clear driveways. Dry in the Fall and dry this WinterXX(XX(XX(

I absolutely love snowshoeing through the forest! We're about 1/4 mi from the Allegan State Game Area which sure is nice to have access to. It's a little different than the snowshoeing we used to do back in the Cascades in Washington, but no less peaceful! I'd love to get further north and do some treking in the deep snow up there :)

I was worried too about the lack of snow. You CAN have drought conditions in the winter.:O:O

Now that's tragically funny. This winter has just been odd all the way around!

To each his own Brett, I would rather my winter sights be like these. We took these several winters ago when we got the bug to go on a joy ride just to get out of the house. So far all we have gotten this winter is a few flurries a couple of times. Guess I will just have to dream about the snows we had a couple years ago.

That's a damn nice sight! I love our wood heat (and we heat 100% with wood), but it's with a wood furnace in the basement. We have a great brick fireplace in the living room, but it's just an open fireplace, not a nice sealed insert like you've got there. I'd love to one day replace it with an insert so we could have the visual ambiance of the fire, rather than hiding it away downstairs.

Yeah, you've got that right! The Seattle area was beautiful in it's way, but for me, it just can't compare with the winter landscape out here. Going up in the mountains was gorgeous, but now I (usually) get to see these scenes every day. 8D

I'm going to preface this with an apology to dial-up users. Thought I'd add some more from last year, since winter has been holding out on us recently. Here is a picture I took in Iowa in Feb. of 2010 while working on an Ice Storm. Location was near Dennison, Iowa. I had labeled to photo. I am so tired cause the tree looked like an old man just beat down. I have some more will try to load. Hotwire Tom Oliver

Here are some from last years BIG SNOW. Deep and hard packed. Wanted to see just what the little 728 could do. It amazed me how it handled it with a little dose of patience.

And here are some of our favorite Michigan winter pics from years past. The first three are from the Hessel area in the U.P.

And the last three are from our room window in St. ignace looking out over Huron Bay. In the last two you can see Mackinac Island out in the Bay.

You guys are killing me...now I'll have to start doing some digging for pics from years past. Here's a couple more I have on my work computer. Someday I'll have a little cabin waaaaaay back in the middle of Nowhere, UP. EDIT: The second pic is a Hunting Shack up near Grand Marais, MI.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
