I saw that on Ebay. The part numbers are not simplicity numbers. If it does fit a Simplicity then its aftermarket. Simplicity didn't really have 8 and 10hp garden tractors on the same chasis, except for the 5008 and 5010.

nope, not wheel horse i allready checked. with the orange color i am thinking Ariens, jacobsen or maybe case. i have been talking with the seller and told him i did not think that was a simplicity part, so he pulled the auction. figured i would double check on here and make sure. he will have more NOS parts from the SIM dealer listed at a later date.

I can say for sure those are not CASE part numbers format. Case purchased the garden tractors from Colt but I do not remember a model 66. Look in an old belt guide from Gates. You can skim the brands for the model numbers pretty quickly and piece the puzzle together that way. Ken

what about a later model massey ferguson. this could explain why it was at a SIM dealer . Massey-Ferguson The first Massey-Ferguson garden tractors, the yellow "Executive" series, appeared in the early 1960’s, and were made by the Dura Corporation, who also made the Moto-Mower and early Porter-Cable tractors. In the late 1960’s the firm came out with the red and gray 7, 10, 12, 14 and 16 models, designed to look like the big Massey farm tractors. Some of these tractors were made by the Badger Northland Company in Wisconsin (Badger was at that time owned by Massey). AMF also made some of these tractors and sold them under their own name in blue and white colors. During the 1970’s Massey come out with the 1000 series tractors, which were made by Snapper. In the early 1990’s, Ingersoll produced Massey garden tractors. In 1993, AGCO Corporation purchased Varity Corporation, which owned the Massey-Ferguson tractor line. After that Simplicity began building the 2000 series Massey-Ferguson garden tractors at Port Washington. Therefore, currently produced Simplicity, Agco, and Massey-Ferguson garden tractors are identical except for paint and decals

I had tried plugging the part numbers into Jacks and they didn't work. I doubt its MF because it would either have MF numbers, Ingersol numbers, or Snapper numbers. There aren't a lot of 8hp or 10hp garden tractors that would use a 540/1000 rpm PTO. That might be the key to narrowing it down.

Perry, I know you said it wasn't WH, but I googled and there was chatter on GTTalk about such a PTO being Wheel Horse. http://gardentractortalk.com/f26-wheel-horse-toro/wheel-horse-540-66-pto-6701/ It mentions a superceded to WH #8-3211, which yields lots of hits for WH PTO manuals. I'm not a member of the yahoo WH group, but the links at GTT on the '66 PTO' led there. Maybe you're member and can access the uploaded files? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wheelhorsetractormanuals3_8/ Also, there is a pic of a PTO-66 here, but with shrouds and such that would hide what you have shown. http://vintagewheelhorses.com/attachments-and-accessories.html

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
