This is a real good price for a good running CCKB. http://cleveland.craigslist.org/grd/2877261915.html I would buy it if I didn't already have a good spare engine. John U

Well, I went ahead and bought this engine, couldn't pass it up. I am also picking up a 7117 tomorrow, wonder how the Onan would fit in it??? It would certainly be unique. John U

John, I would love to have that for one of mine, but it was to far to drive and at that price I new it wouldn't last long. You are a few miles closer to me than where it started so you need to sell it to someone(that doesn't need it)closer and the can keep doing the same until it gets to me.The only problem I can see in that is by the time everyone makes a little profit the engine would cost me more than a repower! If I had a deal like that on a Kohler, I would need a new parts tractor. And I could play w hi/lo too. Round here, engine like that goes for twice that, if they appear at all, ready to rock, like that one.

Interesting, I was checking this engine out today. The first thing I noticed was the nameplate says Onan McGraw-Edison. The model/spec number is CCKB MS/2733J, the serial number is A860792687. My understanding of the Onan serial numbers is that the first letter is the month of manufacture, in this case A=January. The next two digits are the year of manufacture 86=1986. So it is a replacement engine built well after the last Powermax was built. As a matter of curiousity, does anyone know when manufacture of the CCKB engine was discontinued. I may have one of the newest ones in existance! John U

Found some dates; but they are referring to when Cummins Power Gen took over Onan. One indicates 1989. One indicates 1992. I did not find info stating date of last of the Onan Twins. The 1992 timeline reference indicates an attitude about one company doing it all. Note on the timeline site, there are arrows right and left of screen, for previous and next screens - it's graphical, not text. Pretty different kinda site. It also offers a right click Zoom In, so you can read it. http://img.en25.com/Web/CumminsPowerGenerationInc/CPG%20Timeline.swf?utm_campaign=Global%20Marketing%20Weekly%20Update%20-%20Mar%2025%2c%202011&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Eloqua Other brief comment on this link: mentions 1989. http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=station&th=5803 I think you do have one of the last Onan's - very hard to find info. I saw another link from SEPW stating they bought out all Onan stuff, and sold it all - maybe contact them - they might know. OT = I found these links using a new search engine called "DuckDuckGo" - as I try to avoid "gaaagle" search eng. and the privacy issues, rebellion, betrayal, collection of your info for sale for advertizing, etc. (can't determine what that's really about, but it sounds bad). Read DDG's privacy policy - they store nothing. http://duckduckgo.com/
