What is a #123059 Baffle..?

I'm still working to resolve the problem of grass blowing out from the front of my deck. The manual for vacuum collector No. 619 shows a "Front Baffle" #123059 (used in conjunction with the deck hose adapter) which appears to bolt across the front of a deck. Anyone know it's purpose..?

I would guess to help keep grass from blowing out or maybe help keep rocks and stuff from going under the deck. Jordan

sounds like a great idea.Hey dutch you have a flex hose running from your deck to the vac right? On mine its a right angle hard plastic tube with another clear plastic slip tube going to the deck discharge when i make a hard left turn the elbow hits the collection trailer. Is the way you have it better ?Do you have a problem with cloggs? I was just wodering because i think im loseing alot of suction with all the joint i have here
