Differential problems??

Recommended Posts

plowed my garden with my landlord 2110 and noticed the left wheel spinning alot more than usual & getting stuck even on level ground(rear tires are chained). Is this a sign of differential problems?

The two bolts on the left side are to only hold that hub to the axle. On later model tractors they welded the hub or mounting flange to the axle. The right hand side hub is where the adjustment is for traction. The differential is bolted to the axle tube. There is a gear inside the differential that is keyed to the axle shaft and a gear on the right hand hub that is inside the differential as well. Long story short. I would try tighting up the right side. If it does not help the nylon plug or bearing may be worn out.
