Play Date with the E-Z Rake

Recommended Posts

Had a 50/50 chance of storms today, and some family obligations (new niece born last nite!) so I opted out of doing any painting today. When I got some free time, I figured I'd play a bit instead, and got the E-Z Rake setup for it's maiden voyage. I got this off an retired AC dealer in Western PA back in December thanks to Dan, and his trip East with Maynard's goodies. I had to fiddle with some bushings, to properly align the driven pulley with the hitch assembly, but it mounts just like a blower or Weedcutter. Same style push pull engagement... I had to add lifting capabiity to suit my needs. I found a bracket that someone had mounted a headlight to one of my other machines with, and it worked like a charm, giving adequate clearance over the drive shaft on the Rake. I didn't drill a single hole in the Rake to mount it... All in all, it's a fantasic attachment. 4i It's simple and very effective (once I figured out the proper belt length) ngr2 It is far superior to the Revitalizer for thatching, but doesn't aerate quite as well, nor does it appear designed to. I think the two in unison would really be a phenomenal duo! ;)

That's awesome Josh. I'd like to get my hands on one of those myself......maybe I should grow some grass first:D Is it true that they throw a lot of trash up at the operator?

Cool attachment and nice job adapting ideas to make it work. I now have a pull-type ez rake project and your pics of a working front attached model helps.

It does a great job, for sure. It doesn't throw anything up, but rather, kinda moves a 'wash' of thatch, leaves or whatever, out in front of the rake, similar to what a blower does with fluffy snow. It spins away from the tractor. Would be fantastic for mulched leaves in the fall. ;)

That was by far my favorite attachment and it worked FAB with the vacuum collector. I really do miss my tractors and it hurts even more that they are just sitting there at SWMO's house rotting in my compost pile.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
