Briggs Rebuild - Shims

Recommended Posts

I'm in the middle of my first rebuild on a 30 cube briggs that I had bored out to use the 16hp piston. I'm starting to put the thing back together, but am hung up on two things. 1. There are three different gaskets listed for the flywheel side bearing support - 270513,270514, and 270515. They are all .005" different from each other. How do I know which one to use? 2. Same thing with the support piece for the cam on the fly wheel side - 270516, 270517 and 270518 except those are .002" apart. How can I tell which one of these to use? I'd sure like to figure this out with out having to buy all of these different gaskets...Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! Dave Tenney

Go here, http://bsintek.basco.com/BriggsDocumentDisplay/default.aspx?filename=jgEDGP_byN1tG_Exj7mRgtLvBCd6 , toggle way down to crankshaft end play. It is explained there.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
