I NEED HELP

Recommended Posts

I know it isnt the right brand but i need help on my Ford 120. I finally got around to fixing the rear end in it and now there is another problem. When i push the clutch in, the belt slackens like it should, but does not completely disengage. Therefore, I cannot shift out of neutral unless the engine is off. I was hoping someone has any ideas as to what it could be. This tractors is the same as a Jacobsen Super Chief 1200. Thanks

The belt runs from the engine straight to the transmission. the only other pulley or object that touches it is the clutch which is just a spring loaded idler on the pedal.

Aaron, there has to be something that will stop belt motion, like a guide on the idler that will pinch the belt when disengaged, I believe.

You got me thinkin Bob...I have two that have begun giving me this issue, and I'm glad you mentioned the belt guides. I'll look over a manual before I get to the head scratching part of things! dOd
