Found my Vickers leak

Recommended Posts

I finally got the 3416 that I bought a couple of year ago running, although it starts pretty hard so I think it has a valve problem. Anyway it had a little drip drip of hydraulic fluid which didn't shock me, but it wasn't all dirty in the back like we normally see with a leaky Vickers. So I washed it up good and started it in neutral to see where it was coming from. Found it.

So now the question is can I fix it or do I replace it and can a new one be found? Lots of questions.

It appears to be aluminum. (Im not familiar with the Vickers units.) If so it can be welded. It looks like a tube and fin cooler. You may be able to replace it with an automotive transmission cooler. I wish you luck.

I haven't gotten an estimate on fixing this one yet but which ever is cheaper. What would you need for it? I live in Rock Falls IL. 61071.
