sickle designs

I have had the drive arm pivot sieze on me for the second time in 20 hrs of operation and it is getting annoying. It is the needle bearing inside the block that goes from the pitman arm to the heim end. Has anyone made an alternative to it? I would prefer to eliminate the block altogether and go greasable heim on both ends but wanted to check opinions first. I know heim's are not as "long wearing" as a needle under rotary load but at least a greaseable one would last longer and the fail mode would be loose not bind(not sacrificing finishing a job).

Essentially what I ended up making, but on my 46" sickle it is a machined block with a needle bearing that bolts directly to the pitman arm. The other end is a heim like pictured. Fortunately my new job had a double heim linkage sitting in the attic and they let me have it :D. A little trimming and yay its working.

So far the joint combo works, though the counterbalance seems to be off with the lighter linkage. I will have to figure out that later... It worked quite well until a carburetor problem showed up. Oh well.
