double pulley older simplicity allis

Hi, I am trying to modify a 7016 simplicity to run a sickle mower (not thr correct one). I will be using this tractor only for the sickle, and think that the double pulley from a b-112 or 3212 simplicity would work. I am wanting to remove the lower v-pulley and maybe insert bearings in one of these double pulleys, and replace it there, then run a short belt to the larger pulley , and then run the sickle off the small pulley. Is there any reason this would not work. I have posted an ad in the wanted section for this double pulley,and was kind of wanting to get the word out in this discussion area also. If anyone has a better way to slow this sickle down off a 7016, I would be all ears. Also if anyone has a parts tractor that has one, I would love to try it. Thanks in advance, Steve
