Very nice to read. I may have some info on a large displacement over the road truck engine they produced in the seventies. It was painted purple and was a real beast.

thanx for the tour I found myself wondering about how effectively paint fumes were dealt with. There was one pix of a guy w no respirator, I think that was in the 'recovery of paint' section. Chronic exposure? Hard to know what chemicals were in use in those days. Even today, lots of people don't know what an MSDS sheet is. And all that safety in the workplace stuff is developed after the fact. Product and profit dominate; and people need to work. It's an ongoing conflict of interests; and it's in everything; money and the economy is prioritized over people. It will continue until the priority is reversed, and then some. Abandoning economy will not be a simple process. Welcome to the insane world. When I was a child, I knew that money had to be eliminated. I don't know how I got to that; but I knew it, and I was far too young to know that. Maybe 5 ? Today, I think kids know what adults forgot. We are taught that kids are not responsible. So what do we teach kids? We don't teach them about adults. Interesting also that AC was allowed to go bankrupt - that they were not bailed out, or artificially supported. Interesting they also were so huge, they perhaps determined their own future; and maybe they knew when to bailout. ???? click here - who is this? http://www.alchenergy.com/profiles/investor/fullpage.asp?BzID=1233&to=cp&Nav=0&LangID=1&s=0&ID=11002

Back in the days when Allis-Chalmers and then International Harvestor fell on bad times the government didn't do bailouts. Haven't had time to read up on all of Allis-chalmers problems but IH's problems were pretty much all caused by terrible management. To think that at one time John Deere wanted IH to buy them out and today JD is the biggest. Who knowsXX(.
