ID Mystery parts came with a AC 720

Hi, long time lurker but just came by a 720 so figured I'd ante up. Anyway, 720 was delivered to gal's house, a year or two ago, ran, but started having a hard time going up hills etc and ended up sitting. Got it running after finding a bad coil connection, adjusted the points and runs smoothly, barely had enough umph to make it onto the trailer and load all the parts. New clutch belts and a little fluid, and it drives great. So it came with a loader, mowerdeck, plow, hydraulic rear blade, flail mower (thought that was going to be a rototiller-bummer) and a brantley backhoe. All in reasonable shape. Anyway, most of the PTO parts were in the pile as were this hitch and mower deck pictured below. Could be rubbish, but thought the mower deck sort of looks like a simplicity spindle... Hitch I have no idea. Any one seen these before, or have any ideas? Cheers, Rick

Could be a Toro or Ariens. They used the center hub cap on the walk behind mowers. Look at the blade for a part number and try Google search to see what direction it takes

That deck looks like an RER, rear engine rider deck. Either that or a really powerful weed wakker. :D NOT!! Can you post some pix of the FLAIL = please?? maybe a top and a bottom view, showing the cutters? I don't get to see those much. They are really great for uneven terrain, riddled with debris that would ruin a bladed deck. Highway mowers, etc. Probably good for overgrown areas. Pretty tough stuff.

Hello Rick, I can't help on id'ing the parts, but your description of lazy hydro fits the symptoms of "wrong hydro filter" that I had when I bought my 720. Long story short, the filter is on the suction side of pump and substituting too fine of a filter starves the pump and causes the loss of torque. Mine had a FRAM with the black grip end cap, swapped for proper simplicity 20 micron mesh and she could climb a wall. Good luck getting it sorted.

A guess on the deck.... an older 80's toro model 832 or 1132---- if its a 32"deck. Toro used a one blade set up, a front engine vert shaft rider with a clamshell like grass catcher on the back. I used them to landscape because the cut was really smooth but the spindle and the blade clutch were prone to wear. Just looks very familiar to what I remember---my two cents....

Thanks for the suggestions, -The mower blade has no markings, doesn't look original. -Just didn't want to toss anything I'd have to pay dearly for later... Probably save the hitch for the 1" bar, just in case. If no one recognizes it as a simp/AC part that's good -Tractor was lazy because the belts were stretched. You can't adjust the clutch bolt without removing the loader! New belts solved that, pulls well now, but it actually does have the dreaded orange hydro filter... At least it seems to be letting enough oil through at the moment. Was planning on saving pictures for questions of help, but here you go... (Not lots of these tractors in the northwest it seems) But if anyone has a lead on a 2000 rpm tiller in these parts let me know (see those troybilt tines in the background? argh.) Actually, I'd like to take the loader off and mow with it but need to free up the rollers - Anyone know how to get them off a rusted bar? They're a bear. Rear Blade... Hydro is nice touch.

Mott Flail - few knives missing, they all seem rather blunt, but gear box/bearings feel loose/good.

Brantley Backhoe, seems complete , knobs missing, and cylinders have a few minor rust spots...

AC 720... runs well. original onan. PTO mostly there, needs a few new parts, 3pt there, if I can get the one end of the top link loose, that'd be nice. Brakes mostly work, not super, but that sounds typical. Loader works well, one of the guides at the end of the arm is loose, so have to weld that, but otherwise seems solid.

Foot linkage to hydro lever... not sure about this, but makes it easier to use the loader!

Plow Factory, or Homemade?

Mower Deck - Anyone know how to get the rollers off a rusted bar?! Good shape, bearings nice.

Earthcavator - missing the rippers unfortunately, have to pick up yet.

I have a Mott just like that. Flail mower, backhoe, and Earthcavator!!! Man you scored big time. Saws all on the rollers and replace the rollers and shaft. You'll save yourself hassle later. Looks like your missing the top drive pulley and where's the mule drive for that. Good luck and keep the pics coming.

I'd like to see pictures of the foot hydro setup. I've been wanting to try that on my 4041, which is probably about the same .
