i wanted to share an older post on mufflers, i lost a muffler last week. have been thinking of quieting my 23d down. i started searching out mufflers, nelson. i found this post from Ron Hatch. www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=115708 i went out to tsc bought the two mufflers a piece of sheet metal. some different lengths of 1IN galvi pipe. i got the old muffler and pipe out of the motor carefully. sawzall. hammer. cold chisel. installed the new one. looks great (sorry i didn't have my camera with me). its alot quieter. i can hear the valves in the motor now, my neighbors wont be closing their windows any more when i fire up the tractor. parts were $40 bucks and im going to use Rons idea on my other tractors, soon Ron thanks for sharing your idea

Would really like to see some pictures of your muffler. Did you do anything additional to the space between the mufflers (baffles, steel wool). I have a generator that I'd like to quite down.

its simmilar to the one in the post i highlighted im running it without anything in the middle. to me the motor is alot quieter. id give it a shot on the generator i think you might be happy with the results another thought on my welder 2 cyl wisconsin i have a pancake muffler louder than hell. lol we use 16 feet of 6 in stove pipe to muffle the noise. in my eyes it works. yes you can hear it a block away. but its not obnoxious near or far.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
