Triad pics

Could someone post pics of how I can tell if an engine is the Triad by just looking at it? Seems like a lot of the sellers I've contacted don't know what engine they have (and they never can find any serial numbers). Are there clear differences in the way it looks from the side, top, etc. compared to the other engines? Reason being is that recently I've seen several good looking newer sovs for sale that I might have been interested in making a roadtrip for, IF I knew it had the better engine it in. However, I'm not going to waste the fuel only to get there and find out that it's got the Triad in it. Already been burned before helping a buddy find a particular JD 3-series only to get there and find out it had the wrong motor in it. thanks in advance

Here's some more pics of the Triad:

For me, the main keys are: there's one control cable on each side, the fuel pump is on the right side, the valve covers are "flat", and the yellow oil fill plug. Happy hunting.

Another easy way to tell is the Command has a starter mounted solenoid, on the Triad the solenoid is under the dashboard.

Yukon, I've heard people say both ways on that Triad. Personally, I've never used a Triad, but am a little gun-shy from reading the posts on here about them. I sure wish I could tell if the previous owner took care of them properly like that before getting there.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
