CL Simplicity Loader What Do I Have?

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I thought I did well with an original AC yellow dump cart but I think this takes the cake. Well on a whim I checked out CL this afternoon and saw a post for "Hyrdolic Bucket", I clicked and all the add said was it came off a 70's simplicity. Model No. 412 Serial No. 1060 What do I have and what am I missing? Anyone have a manual? Will this fit my Big 10 or B10? Lots of questions. Special thanks to YellowB10 for helping me lift it into the truck. Better pictures in daylight tomorrow. Thats the same condition my L-12 was in. The rest of the tractor had gone to scrap along with the subframe. You will need the subframe, wheel spacers, and a weight box. I thought a weight box was unecessary but after driving a friends cub cadet w/johnson loader, I found its very important to have the rear ballast box. Wheel weights are not enough unless you're working on totally flat ground.

It's a Simplicity mfg #990515 loader...same as an L-12 or L-112. Looks like it's in great shape, congrats on that find! It looks like it has half the use as mine. You're really going to love that thing ;) The subframe is quite simple, really and fabbing one shouldn't take much. You'll need the 990515 manual, paying attention to the 990516 mounting kit. That contains the subframe, rear mounts and wheel spacers you need for a short frame machine. As mentioned, you'll need the rear weight, but that can be accomplished by several means. Check out mages 8 & 9... http://bsintek.basco.com/BriggsDocumentDisplay/default.aspx?filename=heCBEN8arF5rE3Cvh5kbp796Dq

I saw it on Craigs. For that price I doubted it could be anything useful. No pics, limited description poorly spelled. Had I had more time I would have followed up. As it is you found the end of the rainbow!sm06

Chris, I can help get you the dimensions of the rear mounts off one of mine, as they are shared with the L-10 loaders as well. Then you'll need to come up with something for the front axle pivot bolt, as that supports the loader below the fluid resevoir. My 515 has the longer frame mounting kit, but I'm guessing only some minor variation is needed to shorten that up. Steve had that front, under frame mount that came on TractorChick's machine...maybe you can bribe that off them ;) Then, all you'd need to do is figure out a rear weight solution and you're in business! Let me know if/when you decide to tackle it...I have boat loads of pics on how both types mount and can get you any measurements that might apply.

Another option for rear counter weights. I just extended off the sub frame for suitcase weights.

Here's the link to the thread where Kent provided the measurements for his loader, including the subframe assembly: http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=38075

I think this one is a keeper. It will go on the Big Ten for now. I have to remember baby steps and not put the cart in front of the horse. Need to find parts or a fabricator. I look forward to working with everyone on this project. Thanks, Chris

With many thanks to several club members who contacted me I have found almost all I need. Subframe-Located Wheel Spacers-Located Still need to fabricate front bushing and one set of 1/2" spacers for the wheel spacers. The goal is to have this loader on the Big 10. Thanks for everyone's help and interest. I will post pictures of the assembly. Thanks, Chris

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
