carb trouble

My 20 hp kohler magnum on a 1992 Deutzs allis backfires when I start it can anyone tell me a simple way to get carb adjusted right?

Most likely your running very lean first try backing out the low speed needle one half turn you can also back out the high speed needle the same just keep track of how far you turn them out.If this doesn't help try running with the choke on half way if running improves you probably have a obstructed carb .
