What year did they make the 725? Went to a show and a guy argued with me and told me my 75 was a 63and a got it figured as a 61 because according to the made when section on the club page it says they were made in 61 and 62. I have heard discussion before about different length steering columns but cant remember what it was about. Here is a pic of my 725.

IIRC they were made between 1962-63 maybe 61 as well, though I would put yours in the earlier catagory due the short steering colum and 2 piece seat as later versions had the tall colum and pan seat. There are a couple of other differences as well, early fuel tanks were squarer with seemed ends while the later ones were a little rounder with no seems on the ends. Engine production date will also tell a story too but that only applies if your engine is an original!

Between my father and I we own three 725's

The one in the center is a 1963 model according to the serial # and the pan seat like Reed said. The other two are 1962 models. Another picture...

All the 700 series have the 19 CID engine, 7 - 71/4 HP. All have the same OM & IPL book, TP 1231. Below is tractor series, HP, product number, engine model number and engine BOM number. If you can get the complete engine data, that would probably zero it in as to what production year you have. 1959 700 7 990169 19 706035† 700 7 990168 19 706035† 1960 700 7 990169 19 706035† 700 7 990168 19 706035† 1961 725 7 1/4 990235 19 706047† 725 7 1/4 990232 19 706047† 1962 725 7 1/4 990270 19 706047† 725 7 1/4 990269 19 706047† 1963 725 7 1/4 990270 19D 0124-02† 725 7 1/4 990269 19D 0124-02†

Tractor did not have origional motor when I got it,and no tags so I am just going to say 61 since it has the short column like the early 700

I'd say you're about right on your assumption, with the short steering, etc. I ran into a fella yesterday at a show with a rough early B-10, and he went on and on about it being a 'Big Ten'. I didn't want to disagree so I said nothing to the contrary, though it still ahd the 23D, early style brake linkage, clutch setup, and some other early charactaristics. When it came up that I had a Big Ten as well, he was nearly shouting once I showed him the before nad after pics of mine on my phone. "That is NOT a Big Ten!' he said. haha...I don't care...goofballs are everywhere ;)
