10HP 243431 Landlord Ignition question

Recommended Posts

Buickgsman
So I am getting ready to bolt on the blower cover to my 243431 which has been rebuilt and I had an electronic ignition conversion for the magneto which I didnt give a second thought to. I figures it was install and GO.. but apparantly i read omn here that you have to have the flywheel repolarized... not happening. So, I put the ignition kit aside and figure I will do points since this tractor isnt going to see any weather, just maybe the occasional hose if i wash it. Anyway, is there anything I might obtain locally that will eliminate the points and not be too expensive? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks Bob

It's hard to find an "orginal" Mega-Fire, here's one listed on eBay atm: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mega-Fire-Ignition-Module-440-065-BRAND-NEW-and-COMPLETE-/320821665159?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab2761d87 More common is the Mega-Fire II on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/440-465-MEGA-FIRE-II-IGNITION-MODULE-UNIVERSAL-BRAND-NEW-BEST-PRICE-ON-EBAY-/290654433403?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43ac5ab07b or at Jack's: http://www.jackssmallengines.com/Products/Universal/Ignition-Part/MEGA-FIRE-IGNITION
