Allis dump cart

Question regarding this style of dump cart. Was this something AC made or was this a aftermarket cart. I made a trip to an old AC Dealer yesterday and came home with some goodies. This cart was one of them. I have seen green one's like this but this is the first one AC colors I have ever seen. Value?? (I know what anyone is willing to pay) I'm just curious as to what it's worth.

Jason, I use it. I had to buy a new wheel barrow top for mine. Just haven`t installed it yet. It cost more than $35 for the new top. May take frame to get sand blasted. I thought about making one with a heavier frame. The frame is pretty light weight on these but they may hold 300 or so pounds.

John, that is identical to mine. Never seen a yellow one before. I wonder if they ever had brochures for them. I don`t recall ever seeing anything listed for them on Simple TrACtors site.

I have one that I found in a scrapyard and paid $10 for it. It has red paint over what appears to be Allis yellow.

Interesting. I couldn't find any AC material on the carts. This one will be going to a new owner as soon as I get it listed in the classfieds. Thanks for the input.

I've seen the Simplicity labeled ones before, but never an AC. Does is have anything on it identifying it as AC? I had read that these are Brinly carts. I have the green version and that's the color they came in with the Brinly name on it. Someday it will take on a nicer (orange) color.

No AC marks at all, frame is identical to the simplicity carts of the same style. As I said I got it from the AC dealer's old shop.

Wonder if those were made by the same company that makes Radio Flyer wagons and such? I had a Radio Flyer wagon, as I'm sure many others here did also... http://www.radioflyer.com/ Though I can't find them pictured on that site, I did see wheelbarrows and hand-carts, plus other toys, in addition to the wagons that made them famous

Radio Steel and Radio Flyer are one and the same. They did build those wagons, they are a model 39 I think. Radio Steel started building lawn carts in 1957 and did on into the 80's or 90's. They started with wheel barrows at that time too, and still build them. You can get parts for the wheel barrows at Sears. 1917: Italian immigrant Antonio Pasin begins producing and selling children's wooden wagons in Chicago. 1923: Pasin founds the Liberty Coaster Wagon Company. 1930: Company is renamed Radio Steel & Manufacturing. 1941: Radio Steel converts to wartime manufacturing. 1957: Firm extends product lines beyond toys, to garden carts. 1987: Radio Steel changes name again, to Radio Flyer Inc. 1994: Company begins producing new line of plastic wagons. You can read the history here; http://www.fundinguniverse.com/company-histories/radio-flyer-inc-history/ The Popular Mechanics ad is here; sold for $40 in 1970 http://books.google.com/books?id=QtgDAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA174&lpg=PA174&dq=radio+steel+dumping+trailer&source=bl&ots=7DSGDe_4oC&sig=DCGuZRoEDNRUIrKUdP-9EEzt-NM&hl=en&sa=X&ei=CnwkUPH1BNOu6gGp-4DwDQ&ved=0CFUQ6AEwBg#v=onepage&q=radio%20steel%20dumping%20trailer&f=false And you can build your own canoe :D:D
